For measuring and testing the torque strain exerted by appliances with plug pins on socket-outlets, in accordance with IEC60065 clause 15.4.1 and figure 11, IEC60335-1 clause 22.3, IEC60884-1 clause 14.23.2, BS 1363-3 figure 36 and 37.
The balancing arm of the test apparatus pivots about a horizontal axis through the centre lines of the contact tubes of the socket-outlet at a distance of 8 mm behind the engagement face of the socket-outlet.

Standard Outfit:
1 set of weight 0, 5 N-1 N-1, 25 N-0, 25 N, for torques from 0 Nm to 0, 40 Nm,
1 frame for the socket-outlet, pivoted around a horizontal axis through the centre lines of the contact tubes, pivot 8 mm behind the engagement face of the socket-outlet,
1 balance beam, with scale 0 to 20 cm, rigidly connected with the frame for the socket-outlet,
1 counterweight, adjustable,
1 two-pole UL socket-outlet, 1 three-pole Australia socket-outlet and 1 all-purpose socket-outlet.
